Box Break & Review - 2017-18 Parkhurst Hockey #3

On to the third blaster of 2017-18 Parkhurst Hockey...

After box two, my set was 71% complete.  I only had one duplicate, but as the set comes closer to completion, the multiples become greater.  The struggle of set collecting...

Base Cards - 108 cards (36% of the complete set) with no duplicates.

Of the 108 base cards in the blaster, I needed 48 of them for my set.  After the blaster, my base set is now 87.3% complete.  I need 38 cards to finish off the set.

Black Parallel (1:12 packs) - 1 - 21 Torey Krug

Red Parallel (1:3 packs) - 4 - 29 Kyle Okposo, 45 Noah Hanifin, 162 Rick Nash, 286 Kailer Yamamoto

It's disappointing that I now have 12 red parallels, and two of them are Rick Nash.

Three blasters down, two to go.  I know that I won't be able to complete the insert sets, but hopefully I can finish the base and end up with an extra Alex DeBrincat.  Hopefully.

If you shop online and haven't signed up and used ebates yet, you're missing out.  I also use it on eBay to get money back from purchases there.  Between referrals and cash back, I've gotten over $150 in a year (including $15 back on one Black Friday purchase last week).  FREE CARDS!

If you're on Twitter, please give me a follow.  You can also find me on Trading Card Database.  I love trading cards, when it makes sense.  Happy collecting!

  1. Sweet Modano. Might need to look for a completed Pankhurst International insert set on eBay.

    1. I'm not a big fan of them but if you can find a set, that's certainly the way to go. Even with perfect collation, it would take eight blasters to put the set together.

  2. I'd feel the same way if I pulled two Rick Nash cards-or one, for that matter. Is the Nylander card as awesome in-hand as it looks in a scan? The Tarasenko East-West insert is neat, too.

    1. The Prominent Prospects look much better in-hand than my scanner shows them. I like the West East-West cards because of the royal blue background. The Easts (red) don't pop as much, in my opinion.
