Just Because Football is Over, Doesn't Mean "It's Baseball Season"

I kept seeing it over and over on Monday.  "It's baseball season."  I get it, I really do.  It's America's past time.  Baseball dominates both the trading card and blogosphere landscape.  It's never "baseball season" in my world.

It IS racing season, though.  IndyCar starts up soon and the Month of May will be here before I know it!  This mail day is an Indy 500 one.

This is my second copy of the card and both of them have been liberated from Canada.  I wrote about the first one here, on Bean's Ballcard Blog.  It didn't cost me much, but it's not a card that I see too often.  I'll continue picking up all copies that I find, if the price is right.

  1. Wow, great card! I feel you, though I do love baseball I also love hockey - and no one in the American sports media landscape says "let's talk NHL" once the Super Bowl ends. They all shift their attention to NCAA basketball, or NBA basketball. Or they skip basketball and go straight to Spring Training, as you said.

  2. As much as I love baseball, I cannot wait for May to come around. Superb Vuk pick-up!

  3. Don't know much about racing... but it doesn't take a fan to appreciate sweet cardboard like that one. Nice pickup.

  4. I always look forward to baseball season every year, but I have plenty to keep me busy in the meantime. My wife and I have season tickets to WVU football and basketball and I really enjoy watching the Penguins. March Madness is the perfect bridge to Opening Day.

  5. I've never seen anything about this set before. What a fun card!

And I'm happy to see another blog with some love for hockey, football, etc.
