1956 Topps Baseball Set Break from BurlsSports.com

I believe that this set break was back in November.  I suppose I'm a little behind on posting!

I participated in my second set break with Burl's Sports and bought three spots for his 1956 Topps set break.  I'd previously picked up some spots in a 1957 set break and though I didn't hit any of the big cards, it was nice having a shot.

If you like vintage, I suggest giving it a whirl.  Even if you don't end up with the monster, you will have vintage cards that you can trade or do whatever you like with.  I don't get that dirty feeling like I had all the times I was burnt in box breaks.  If you join, make sure to tell Justin that I sent you.  He does give away a free spot in each break.

I bought three spots in a 1956 break.  The cards I received:

1956 Topps #26 Grady Hatton

1956 Topps #100 Baltimore Orioles TC - White Back, Team Name Centered

1956 Topps #139 Tommy Carroll - Gray Back

I don't know why, but Justin elected to throw in a bonus card for me.  I'm not asking questions why and just enjoy having the additional card in my collection.

  1. I suppose it's hard to be disappointed when you end up with such wonderful vintage, no matter who or what. Definitely something to consider.

    1. That is exactly how I see it. Would I have preferred ending up with the Mantle? Absolutely. In the end, I still get a great vintage card and I at least had a shot at a card that I otherwise wouldn't. Let me know if you get into one of his breaks.

  2. You picked a great set, 1956 is a favorite of many collectors (myself included) Team cards are tough, I think. And you cant beat a freebie with a pair of HOF greats. I might have to look into these set breaks and see if I can get in on the fun.

  3. The 56's are great and the Fence Busters is probably one of my all-time favorite cards, two giants of the game in more ways than one.

  4. I'm a big fan of 56T... but that Fence Busters bonus card takes the cake.
