I didn't know anything about this when I first started the post. Thanks to the interwebz (sepcifically
Trading Card Database), I was able to figure it out.
This sticker/card combo was released with the 1986 Fleer set. The sticker backs had "Famous Feats" on the back that had been previously used as a set in 1972. All stickers had either two or three different backs. The lone exception is the Chicago White Sox Pennant sticker, which appears to only have one back.

A Cubs card with a White Sox back??? Sacrilege!!!
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness though, perfect card to post today, since it's the last day of the Crosstown Series.
I thought the same thing about the Cubs/White Sox connection. However, when this was produced, the teams could have only played in the World Series.
DeleteConcerning the series today, pure happenstance!
I miss the team stickers. That's a good one!
ReplyDeleteGum, stickers, team holograms and puzzles...why can't we get these things back?

NIce pick up. Another great source for info on Fleer stickers is the blog http://fleersticker.blogspot.com/ It isn't updated too often, but the archives of it is a great resource for identifying pesky Fleer stickers.
ReplyDeleteI have some more of them, thank you for letting me know about it!
